Frequently Asked Questions - Singapore PR

Please reach us at Belle@tristarservices.online if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Eligibility depends on your current visa status and profile. Common categories include:

  • Professionals and skilled workers holding an Employment Pass, S Pass, or EntrePass
  • Spouses and unmarried children of Singapore citizens or PRs
  • Aged parents of Singapore citizens
  • Investors and entrepreneurs under the Global Investor Programme

At Tristar Immigration Services, we conduct a free initial assessment to determine your eligibility before you begin the process.

On average, the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) takes 4 to 6 months to process PR applications. However, some cases may take longer depending on the applicant’s profile and documentation completeness.

With Tristar’s structured approach, we ensure your application is complete and compelling before submission — reducing the chances of delays caused by missing or incorrect documents.

While ICA does not disclose exact criteria, common factors include:

  • Employment stability and type of industry
  • Salary and contribution to Singapore’s economy
  • Length of stay in Singapore
  • Educational qualifications
  • Family ties and integration into society

Our role at Tristar is to help you highlight your strengths in each of these areas, ensuring your profile stands out.

Yes, you can. However, many of our clients come to us after either facing rejection or feeling overwhelmed by the process. Tristar Immigration Services handles the complexity for you — from document collation to narrative building — so you can focus on your work and family.

We provide end-to-end PR application support, including:

  • Eligibility checks and profile analysis
  • Document preparation and verification
  • Professional ICA form completion
  • Strategies to enhance your profile before applying
  • Submission and ongoing follow-up until approval from ICA

Frequently Asked Questions - Singapore Citizenship

The processing time usually ranges from 12 to 18 months after submission. At Tristar Immigration, we ensure your documents are complete and well-presented, helping to avoid unnecessary delays.

Yes. You can include your spouse and unmarried children below 21 years old in your application. Our team at Tristar guides you through the documentation for each family member, ensuring nothing is overlooked.

Yes. Singapore does not allow dual citizenship. Once your application is approved, you will need to renounce your existing citizenship before attending the Oath of Renunciation, Allegiance, and Loyalty. Tristar will walk you through this final step so the process is smooth and stress-free.

Frequently Asked Questions - Work Passes

Generally 1 to 2 years, renewable based on continued employment and meeting MOM’s criteria.

Yes — eligible work pass holders can bring dependants on Dependant’s Pass or Long Term Visit Pass.

Yes, but your new employer must apply for a new pass. We handle smooth transitions to avoid employment gaps.

Frequently Asked Questions - Long Term Visit Pass (LTVP) & D

  • DP: For spouses and children of eligible work pass holders.
  • LTVP: For common-law spouses, stepchildren, or parents of SC/PR holders, subject to ICA or MOM approval.

DP holders can work with a Letter of Consent. LTVP holders require a valid work pass.
